A cold and quiet Sunday night

My tropical plant looking out into my snowy backyard.  Some leaves are a bit chewed.  Cats and all.

I'm thirsty

This is my kitchen faucet.  There are many like it.  But this one is mine.  Water comes out of it mostly.  Except today.

A water main broke down the street.  No water for me.  For now.  Luckily, the Great Water Crisis of '14 taught us all to have plenty of bottled water on hand.  So I'm good.  For now.

Setting sun at Spring Meadows

Sun sets on a successful shopping excursion.

I like shopping at dinner time on the weekends.  Stores and parking lots not so crowded.  The setting sun made it lovely looking too.

New Year; New Effort

'Twas the night before I take down my puny Christmas decorations and take another crack at taking pictures daily.

I'm giving it another go.  Who knew it would be so hard to take a picture every day?  Not me.  Now I do.

By the time I realized it'd been months since I took out my camera,  I decided to just wait until the start of the new year.

I read an article in Time about the psychology of keeping New Year's resolutions.   The trick apparently is to not beat yourself up and try to eliminate bad habits.  The trick is to add positive things.  Firmly established neural pathways and all.  The positive things, over time, end up replacing the bad habits.  At least that's the goal.

My goal is to take a picture every day.  And lose 10 pounds of course.  I'm super positive I'll succeed at both.
